Childhood Memories:
One of my favorite family memories growing up was the annual family road trip from the East Coast to the Midwest. I always enjoyed the time well spent with family, visiting the historic sites, and stopping for ice cream at the same little store in Wyoming.

I also remember working my first paper route and mowing the neighbors' yards.  I will be honest.  There were times when I absolutely did NOT want to go out and mow the grass and there were plenty of days when I didn't feel like delivering the newspapers.  Encouragement always came from my parents to keep on going.  Something I never understood is why my parents would make me save half of my money.  Giving a portion to the church was easy, but saving half just didn't make sense!...it does now.  Along the lines of work, I remember having to help weed the family garden.  Weeding to help vegetables grow...what kid would want any part of that?  I did get more and more excited every year as the strawberry patch in the garden slowly crept into the area for the green beans!  The grape vines, apple trees, and cherry tree were right up my alley.

(Disney World)
When I was little, we would go into our backyard where we had a big sandbox.  We would play out there for hours, at least it seemed like hours.  My brothers, friends, and I would create all kinds of forts for GI Joes and other action figures.  We would create rivers of water through the sandbox.  I don't know how many action figures we lost in there but I do remember getting in trouble for filling the toys full of sand!

Christmas with family is also a great memory for me.  I believe I inherited the Christmas spirit from my mom who also loves that time of the year.  Christmas music in November was common.  Becca always says that I like December because my birthday is in December.  It's really all of the good memories I have of spending additional time with family.  As our family has spread out, it has become more difficult for all of us to get together, but we still never spend a Christmas without seeing either Becca's or my parents.

Becca's Thoughts on Troy:
GENUINE! That’s one of the first words to come to mind. He never tries to be something he’s not. You get 100% Troy all the time. I love that he doesn’t try to blend in or change for others, he’s just himself, and people love him all the more for that.

ADVENTUROUS! Troy loves to try new things, and isn’t one to sit around and watch T.V. He wants to get outside and experience life! I love that about him. On our first date he took me rock-wall climbing. I knew I liked him then! Even if he does claim that he let me beat him to the top! He’ll also try anything at least once, like weird new food, even things that look scary to me!

FRIENDLY & FUN! He gets along with anyone, and is a loyal, trusting friend. Troy is so much fun! He is always making me laugh. Sometimes so much that my smile muscles and sides hurt! He’ll do anything to make me smile, and he keeps life fun around our house!

LOVING! Troy is so good to me. He loves to surprise me (since he knows I LOVE surprises). He’ll surprise me with a yummy breakfast, like pink heart-shaped pancakes, or he’ll clean up the house and complete some kind of special project before I get home.
